During a session, the client typically lies comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed, while the practitioner gently places their hands either lightly on or just above the body in a series of positions.
Reiki energy—often described as universal life force energy—is believed to flow through the practitioner’s hands to the client, helping to remove energetic blockages and restore harmony within the body’s natural energy pathways. These pathways include the meridians (used in Traditional Chinese Medicine) and the chakras, which are the body’s main energy centers.
Each chakra corresponds to specific organs, emotions, and aspects of well-being. When these centers are balanced, energy flows freely, supporting physical vitality, emotional stability, and mental clarity. Reiki helps align and clear these chakras, promoting a sense of grounding, peace, and overall wellness.

A Sound Bath is a meditative experience in which the client lies comfortably on a treatment table as a variety of sounds resonate through the space. It is not like a music concert – there are no melodies or rhythms – but long continuous sounds “bathe” the listener in healing waves. Sound baths often feature singing bowls, rain sticks, tuning forks, bells, gongs, and numerous other resonant objects designed to de-stress, remove stagnation, and heal the body and mind.
What is a Harmonic Sound Bath?
A Harmonic Sound Bath is a special kind of sound bath developed by Brian Abbott, and uses a singing bowl with the addition of electronic tones. These tones are tuned in special mathematical relationships that the human body is naturally designed to respond to. These natural frequencies grow organically out of the singing bowl and bring the listener to a state of sonic purity. The vast majority of music that people hear in modern society is slightly out of tune with the natural harmonies of nature.
